Summer Style - The Dress Edition

The Patterned Summer Dress

Any pattern will do, but we have an affinity for stripes – and we say 'the brighter the better'. This is the Bette Dress from Mara Hoffman and it is made from 100% Tencel. Tencel is biodegradable and unlike cotton it is produced in a closed loop circle which reduces waste and uses a lot less water to produce.

The Plaid Dress

This print is not just for fall, update the color and silhouette and it is perfect for any summer BBQ. We are loving the Gina Wrap Dress from Amour Vert. This dress is also made from 100% Tencel which not only means less waste during manufacturing, but it is also very comfortable (absorbent, soft and keeps you cool).

The Tent Dress

It is oversized and lightweight perfect for those who are looking for comfort without sacrificing style. Check out this tent dress from Cossac. It is made ethically in their Turkish factory and is made from biodegradable fibers. We also love that all of their hangtags and boxes are made out of recycled materials and are recyclable.

The Shirtdress

It is totally versatile, especially in classic neutral colors like black or white. It is basic and like a blank canvas that you can personalize with any accessories. We love this Jersey Shirt Dress from Eileen Fisher. This dress was cut and sewn in NYC as part of their effort to support US manufacturing.

The Wrap Dress

Iconic and easy to wear the wrap dress is perfect for any occasion. We would wear this Japanese GoWeave from Everlane (which is wrinkle resistant) to work, the farmer’s market, brunch with the girls, or any outdoor get-together this summer. We appreciate the Transparency of Everlane and before manufacturing this dress in the Suzhou factory they took a tour and issued a strict compliance audit to check employee satisfaction and environmental standards. Our kind of company.

The Floral Dress

It’s time to fully embrace this botanical pattern. Pastel or vibrant we love them all. The Isabella Maxi from YIREH is one of our favorites, we are totally digging the maxi length and contrast of the blue and pink. All YIREH products are ethically produced in small batch collections and everything is completely handmade.

The Polka Dot Dress

In our opinion it’s the most must-have piece for this Summer. Take a look at the Salento Dress from Reformation. We are obsessed with the halter neck, peek-a-boo front and oversized black dots. This dress also happens to be made with biodegradable fabric and used 7 lbs. less carbon dioxide than the average trendy dress during production. Win-Win.
